What is lack of health?

Have you ever thought you were unable to reach the health you wish to achieve?

Bridge to Health is a component of Catholic Charities within the Diocese of Owensboro, KY.  It is our belief that there are times in one's life that health may be located in one area and the person may be unable to reach it due to obstacles out of one's control.  The mission of this office is to aid in providing a bridge to health care and thus improve the lives of individuals. 

The goals of this department are:
Goal 1: Expand the Basic Parish Nurse program throughout the Diocese of Owensboro.           

            Objectives:

1.      Establish a partnership with Brescia University, who will act as the affiliate institute with the International Parish Nurse Resource Center.

2.      Prepare a qualified individual to be the Faculty Coordinator for the Basic Parish Nurse program through training at the International Parish Nurse Resource Center.

3.      Initiate continuing educational programs using material focused on Parish Nursing with hospitals throughout the Diocese of Owensboro.

Goal 2: Provide information on Health Issues

            Objectives:

1.      Develop a web link through the Diocese of Owensboro web page in order to provide information on health issues.

2.      Initiate a Bridge to Health corner in the Western Kentucky Catholic in order to provide information on health topics.

3.      Explore available resources in communities throughout the Diocese of Owensboro and assist in making these known to the public, i.e. prescription medications, physician access, etc.
