Stewardship of Time and Talent

            First, Sr. Connie Ostrander is in recovery from the mild stroke she experienced in January.  Both Sr. Connie and Sr. Naomi Rosenberger have resumed fundraising duties for the Diocese of Mandeville, however their efforts will be largely done out of their Louisville Ky office with a few trips a year to Mandeville.  It is hoped that after a break during the summer that Mission Immersion trips may be able to resume.

            Second, the Diocese of Owensboro has a scheduled October 3-9, 2007 trip in the works with anticipation that it will get to go.  We have received applications for four of ten slots from people that have expressed an interest in participating. 

            Third, a group of Nurses from the Diocese of Owensboro has a trip underway to work with Mary Danhauer.   They are scheduled to return 5-28-07.

            Fourth, a few Parishes have a continued interest in sending groups this year.  St. Stephen Parish and one other Parish have contacted the Diocese to inquire about going in 2007.

Stewardship of Treasure

            The Fifth Diocesan wide collection took place on Ash Wednesday February 21, 2007. Sr. Joseph Angela reported on 4-17-07 that the Diocese was sending a check to our Sister Diocese for $85,221.34 from the Collection plus the other contributions that have come in. 

            Sr. Naomi Rosenberger stated on 4-18-07 that she was truly humbled by the constant generosity of the dedicated men and women from Owensboro.  She went on to say: “Our Diocese has been graced by the abundance that has come to us, and especially by the kindness, dedication, and commitment of those who have come to serve. Financially, this is extraordinary! However, the dedication and sincerity that flows forth from all of you to support our mission diocese brings tears to my eyes. My soul is singing for joy and gratitude for each of you!

Alleluia! Praise to the Lord!”
