Nearly half of the seventh grade students
from Owensboro Catholic Middle School were recently recognized by
Duke University's Talent Search Program as showing talent in
either the area of Verbal and/or Mathematical ability. The
program is aimed at identifying gifted seventh graders and
invites these students to participate in taking either the SAT or
ACT college entrance examinations.
Owensboro Catholic Middle School also
boasts a strong fine arts, co-curricular and athletics program.
In fact, the OCMS marching band members, Matt Grimsley, Katie
McBride and Tim Coleman were just named to All District Band. The
football team had a great finish, and the Academic Recall team is
alive and kicking! The overwhelming committment of a superb
instructional staff, a great administration, strong parental
involvement, and volunteers who support OCMS are only a few
reasons for our success.
New technological improvements have set
the pace for this middle school. A newly completed computer lab
offers every student more educational advantages. By the 1999
school year the entire OCS school system will be able to
communicate via the World Wide Web.
