Saint Romuald School

The first school on the parish grounds was built near the Church in 1876 and was staffed by the sisters of Charity until 1887, and from that date, until 1903, by the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville. In 1903, a new school was built and was staffed by the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph, Maple Mount, Kentucky. The third and present grade school building was constructed in 1952, while Father Leo Hoying was Pastor. This school building served both the grade and high school until 1966, when a separate building for the high school was built. In 1990, the Benedictine Sisters of Ferdinand Indiana joined the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph to staff the school. The high school closed in June of 1991. The Benedictine Sisters served in the school until 1994 and the Mount Saint Joseph Ursuline served until 1996. Presently the school is staffed by a dedicated and professional lay faculty and serves Preschool, Kindergarten through grade 8.
