| The Saint Mark legend begins with Bishop John J. McRaith sending Fr. Tiell to scout Lyon County to determine the feasibility of establishing the first church in Eddyville, KY. Fifty four attended the first Mass in a building in a park June 14, 1987. On September 4, 1989, St. Mark Parish came into being. On November 14, 1989, the first Mass was celebrated in the new church, which was dedicated April 1, 1990. |
