Parish History
| Our Church began with the first known Mass in Clinton, KY, on June 28th. 1982, in the Hickman County Recreational Center. Rev. Carl Glahn of Fulton, KY, officiated, with approximately 50 people in attendance. On August 24th, 1982, the Most Rev. Henry. J. Soenneker, Bishop of Owensboro, officially named our congregation "The Church of St. Jude." Ground-breaking for construction of the church building occurred on October 18th. 1982. Nine and a half weeks later, on December 24th, Christmas Eve, the first Mass was held in the new church building, On May 1st, 1983, dedication of the new church was held by the Most Rev. John J. McRaith, Bishop of Owensboro. On December 11, 1990, the parish purchased a brick home located at 304 Crume Avenue, Clinton, KY, for the pastoral associate's residence. Since then, a lot next to the church has been purchased with the hope and plan to construct a much-needed parish hall. |
