Parish History

Holy Redeemer Parish began as a small outreach endeavor from St. Mary's Church of Whitesville in the 1950's. Around 1962 Holy Redeemer became a parish connected with the Glenmary Missioners' parishes in Morgantown and Sunfish. First resident pastor came in 1965. Holy Redeemer continues to be a Glenmary administered parish. It currently serves 83 families.
This parish is served by one priest; Fr. Fid takes care of one other parish as well (Holy Trinity, Morgantown). It is a large geographic area. Two religious sisters work in these parishes.
