Sisters of the Lamb of God

Vocation Information.

We are an apostolic congregation strongly rooted in an intense prayer life. The Divine Office is recited in common daily. The Eucharistic celebration is the center of our life from which we draw the strength needed to minister to God's people, and to which we bring all those we serve.

Two periods of personal prayer before the Blessed Sacrament daily are one of our ways of deepening our personal relationship with Jesus, and growing in the spirit of the Lamb of God--meekness and humility.

We welcome every person who desires to respond to their call from God to religious life:

  • With respect: putting the accent on the person who is precious in the eyes of God, not on her limits of physical health or age.
  • With audacity: in opening ourselves to persons of different cultures, new visions, different values, and different ways of living.
  • With confidence: the Lord has preceded us in his gifts.
  • With wisdom: we are open to the richness of new members.
  • With patience: mutual knowledge supposes endurance.
  • With seriousness: community life is both a gift from God and a task to be accomplished.
  • With faith: knowing that the desire and the will of the persons to give themselves to Christ will gradually lead them through experiences to let Christ love them and to be transformed by Him in order to participate in proclaiming the Kingdom.

Enriched by our diversities, accepting our differences, we count on God's grace to give meaning to the living together of healthy and physically handicapped sisters as a witness to the Kingdom of God. (Rule of Life)

Notice: The Sisters of the Lamb of God are beginning an Associate Member Branch. Monthly meetings will be held on the third Sunday of each month beginning with the April meeting, Sunday, April 22, 2001, from 2-4 at the Immaculate Family Center, 2516 Christie Place, Owensboro. All over 18 are invited. An Associate Branch of a religious order has the purpose of sharing its gifts (charism) and its spirituality with lay persons who might wish to enrich their own spiritual lives by living our spirit in their own way. Meetings will be once a month. If you have questions, contact Sister Mary Monica, 926-2739 or Sr. Mary Raymonde, 281-5450. Click here for more information
