Since Comprehensive Immigration Reform failed last summer there has not been another comprehensive proposal. Also the attempts to pass individual bills like the DREAMAct, AgJobs, etc. have failed.

On August 29, the 4 Catholic Bishops of Kentucky issued a pastoral statement related to the immigration reform debate raging throughout the country - "Every Man and Woman is the Image of God"

August 23, 2006 Bishop John McRaith has written an op-ed article, Immigration Reform: recognize that every man and woman is the image of God. This is another means by which the bishops hope to help Catholics understand the Church's teaching about welcoming migrants and treating them justly.
